It’s been another year of growth and glory at Onyx Health, and as it comes to a close we share with you our top highlights of 2015.
We kicked off 2015 in style hosting an advisory board meeting for a client in Barcelona. After months of fastidious planning and organisation we brought together a selection of Europe’s top oncology professionals who helped us to identify each market’s specific training requirements for the client’s product. Since then we have developed training materials that have been successfully endorsed by a leading European oncology nursing society.
In April, we launched a customer-focused website which not only met but exceeded our client’s business objectives. Our site simplified the sourcing process for hospital pharmacists trying to track down imported unlicensed medicines. Pharmacists were able to instantly check the availability of a product and generate quotes from their PC, smart phone or tablet. Since its launch there has been a 500% increase in the target demographic accessing the site, leading to a significant increase in customers asking for quotes and going on to purchase products.
The North East is full of bright ideas and we’re here to help healthcare SME’s showcase their talents and grow their business. In May, we proudly sponsored the NHS Innovations North, Bright Ideas in Health Awards and were overwhelmed by the innovation the North East has to offer. We are also delighted to be sponsoring the awards once again in 2016.
In July, we put our running shoes on and competed in Newcastle’s 5K Colour Run. Things got messy! Our very own athlete Dean was fastest in his category completing the race in a speedy 30 minutes, closely followed by a green-haired Karen. Three pints later Lauren and Lynsey made it past the finish line triumphant in all their glory, and smashing their own personal bests.
Back in August we bid farewell to our Durham Office and made the leap to Hoults Yard, putting us in the heart of Newcastle. Our quirky new HQ has brought us closer to the city’s blossoming life science and pharma businesses. We also launched our new website which encapsulates our new motto ‘The will to do well, the will to be well’, profiles the team, sharpens our brand image, and showcases our services.
In August we welcomed another addition to our expanding team, Stephanie Oxley, formerly of NHS Innovations North who joined us in her new role as Client Account Executive. Stephanie has strengthened our team, bringing with her a wealth of local NHS knowledge and meticulous organisational skills. Onyx Health is now coincidently made up entirely of Northumbria University Alumni.
In November we jetted off to Dusseldorf to attend the world’s largest medical fair. MEDICA welcomes more than 130,000 visitors and around 4,900 exhibitors from over 70 countries. Four days, 19 halls and 5 bratwursts later we spoke with a variety of healthcare SME businesses to let them know how we can solve their problems, grow their business, and ensure their healthcare marketing communications are effective.
We are delighted to welcome Moira and the team from PolyPhotonix on board and look forward to working with them throughout 2016 on an exciting product that treats diabetic retinopathy, preventing blindness. Their Noctura400 sleep mask uses incredible technology to help combat this devastating eye disease and has been hailed as one of the top 100 products to change the world.
The team at Onyx Health wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
